How it all started….

Hansford's Traditional Butchers was established by Nick Hansford back in 1978 when Nick bought the village butchers business from Mr Bill Pitt. Up until that time Nick had worked in the local area after completing a one year course at the college of distributive trades in Smithfield, London where he qualified with an HND in all aspects of the meat trade. Since then Nick and Sally have worked together in the business and moved to their current premises in 1984.

We pride ourselves on the quality of the meat we sell. Buying from local farms and selected by Nick gives us the assurance that the meat we sell will be of the highest quality. We make all our own sausages with lots of flavours to choose from and burgers and faggots too. We offer a wide range of cooked meats all cooked on the premises. Our in-house kitchen produces lots of tempting pies and pasties, made using our own meat, and all our pastry is home made on the premises.

Monday to Friday: 8:30am-5:30pm (Closed between 1pm-2pm)
Saturday: 8:30am-1pm
